Dave owns and operates his 3rd generation family farm just east of Yorkton, SK, originally founded by his grandparents Fritz and Margerat. While the farm once included dairy and mixed beef, it was primarily a grain operation. Dave began farming in 1979 and rented his first half-section in 1982 alongside his dad and uncle. Over time, the farm grew to 2,500 acres and included a flock of 600 ewes.
In 1994, Dave transitioned into the insurance industry with Farrell Agencies, a forward-thinking brokerage specializing in agricultural insurance. In 2014, he rented out his 15-quarter grain farm to focus fully on his insurance career and to bring greater value to producers through tailored insurance solutions.
In 2020, Dave joined Lakeview Insurance to open the Yorkton, SK branch. Since then, the branch has expanded to serve Humboldt, Lake Lenore, Stoughton, and Regina.
