Darren has been in the insurance industry for over 28 years and holds both a Certificate in Risk Management and a Fellowship of Insurance. His career has included more than a decade with three different insurance companies and 13 years as a licensed broker, including time as an owner and Chief Operating Officer of an independent brokerage. During this time, he developed expertise in professional liability insurance, working with engineering and architectural firms across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Darren now leads business development for the Prairies with a Manitoba-based insurance company.
He has also been deeply involved in the industry, serving as President of both the Professional Liability Agents of North America (PLAN) and the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba (IBAM). Beyond insurance, Darren has contributed to his community through several boards and is currently Board Chair of the Youville Centre, leading new initiatives to support people living with diabetes. He has also spent many years coaching with Manitoba Special Olympics.
Darren lives in Manitoba with his wife and two sons, ages 8 and 11. He enjoys an active lifestyle with hobbies such as golfing, running, biking, kayaking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
